WHY THE NAME ORBIS?
Glad you asked!
Orbis means “circle” in Latin.
So, why circle?
Circle connotes a holistic approach, recognition
of a system, an area of action or influence, revolving around
a common center, a group of people sharing a common interest,
completion.
I have always been attracted to seeing the
whole picture before acting on one element of a system.
Additionally, I envision the figure formed
from three overlapping circles as emblematic of the system
mankind has established to positively effect three environments:
- the built environment — infrastructure,
facilities, buildings
- the human environment — systems to
support independent and productive people
- the natural environment — plant and
animal species, the land
The intersection of these circles, for me,
represents administration—the governing structure to
positively affect the three environments.
The three circles that form four interlocking
shapes also represent the four dimensions of balanced human
life: physical, mental, social, and spiritual.
I also see the figure connecting with the study
of the four personality temperaments—Guardian, Artisan,
Idealist, and Rational.
My
logo symbolizes both the circle itself as well as the interlocking
circles formed by my initials.
Orbis Group is all about positively impacting
the three environments by enhancing administrative capabilities
through recognition of life balance and temperament diversity.
Oh, and one more thing: I just like the sound
of the word...Orbis!
